The minuscule yields of nearly one ton per acre on our Howell Mountain Estate and Candlestick Ridge vineyards led to historic skin-to-juice ratios that provided wines of exceptional color and depth, even by Howell Mountain standards. 2021 was another low yield vintage for our Amentet Vineyard, but not as crazy low as our sister vineyards on Howell Mountain. The balanced vines at 1700’ have produced a Cabernet that is traditional in the best way.

The 2021 vintage was the smallest on record for either of our Howell Mountain vineyards as vines struggled to recover from drought and fire, and the few bunches on the vines were thinned even further by windy, cold weather at flower. The result of this skin-to-juice ratio is wine of depth and structure with explosive fruit.
