Summer on Candlestick Virtual Tasting
Join Elton Slone and a very special guest on a summer journey to the northern summit of Howell Mountain as we taste and discuss three thrilling, small lot wines over an hour on Thursday, June 26, from 3 to 4 p.m. (PDT) at the Summer on Candlestick Virtual Tasting!

We will kick things off with a wine that is tailor made for summer evenings (or mornings), 2024 dry Grenache Rosé that is intentionally produced from shy-bearing old vines. The John Alban Heirloom Clone Grenache shines in this wine that shimmers and refreshes like the swimming pool waters with which it so readily pairs.
Then on to our 2021 “Côte de Craig” Syrah, Grenache blend (also produced from John Alban Heirloom Clone cuttings). Our homage to the great wines of the “roasted slope” in Côte Rotie is a stunner in the 2021 vintage. This might be my personal favorite wine in the Craig portfolio.
We will finish with 2021 “The Stick” Cabernet Sauvignon from our Candlestick Ridge Vineyard that is achieving “profound” status at the five-year mark in its evolution. The wine is dark, perfumed and integrated. The Stick will require a decant, but the rewards are enormous.
